With the theme of “what lies beneath”: creating a series of objects, ideas, and things that may not be what they seem allowing for the viewer to see layers beneath what is.

This is one of my bigger works (18x24?) dated from 2018-2019
Selfportrait- one of the very first few of them, was constrained to using only three colored pencils:
-red
-blue
-yellow
: and so began a long process of layering colored pencils to create what would look like a skin tone

First piece is “Cookies” in the style of Wayne Thiebaud - acrylic
Second a 4x4 ba 3
hroom tile painted with Beach imagery- acrylic
Third- Sections of a nintendo DS lite- graphite
Fourth- Gesture drawing practice- done in carcoal
Fifth- experimental drawing with still life- pastel, Ink , acrylic paint, and charcoal
Sixth- a collage piece from random magazines - paper, ink, gold paint, and rhinestones
Seventh- Mushrooms- done from an intent study- collage, watercolor, and ink
